Cole Congratulates National Blue Ribbon Schools in OK-04

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Tom Cole (OK-04) this week congratulated two elementary schools located in the Fourth District of Oklahoma following their selection by the U.S. Department of Education as National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2020. Frederick Elementary School (Frederick) and McKinley Elementary School (Norman) both received the recognition, which is awarded to schools for overall academic performance as well as successful efforts to close achievement gaps and facilitate exceptional classroom environments and learning. The awards ceremony will be held virtually on November 12 and 13, 2020.

“I am thrilled to congratulate the Fourth District’s own Frederick Elementary School and McKinley Elementary School upon their distinguished recognition as National Blue Ribbon Schools,” said Congressman Tom Cole. “Clearly, a lot of hard work and creativity went into achieving this prestigious title. Focused on the needs and interests of their unique communities, their efforts both demonstrate the phenomenal dedication of educators and administrators, partnering with families, to ensure our kids have the best learning environments possible.”

“Frederick Elementary is excited about the National Blue Ribbon 2020 Award,” said Principals Kay Cabaniss and Janice Crume, Frederick Elementary School. “It is great to be recognized for hard work. We are proud of our teachers, staff, students and parents who always believe all children can learn.”  

“The McKinley Elementary Staff is thrilled to have been selected as a National Blue Ribbon School for 2020,” said Principal Carol Emerson, McKinley Elementary School. “I am very proud of our students and staff for their hard work and commitment to excellence! We feel we accomplish great things due to the support we receive from our supportive parents and community!” …
