Superintendent Letter – 6/29

6/29/2020

Dear Parents/Patrons,
Frederick Public Schools is busy planning for the upcoming school year. We can’t
wait to welcome our students back into the classroom. We would like to give you
this update to let you know that we are going to wait until the middle of July to
solidify our school year plans. As of today, we are planning on August 13 th being the
first day of class for students.

As the current health crisis continues to evolve, the future remains unknown. It
seems that every day we get a new directive from different authorities including the
CDC, WHO, State Health Dept., Governor’s Office, etc. We understand this is the
frustrating part of dealing with this crisis. We are planning for different situations
and challenges. Our schools must remain comfortable and welcoming places to work
and learn.

Please contact your building Principal or my office if you have concerns.

Sincerely,

Shannon Vanderburg
Superintendent
