September 12-16, 2011, is Oklahoma's Win-Win Week for cancer awareness. Schools across the state participate in a competition to raise the most money in their OSSAA class for the Oklahoma Cancer Center. The winning school in each class will be recognized statewide with a state trophy and the chance to be able to name a room at the Peggy and Charles Stephenson Oklahoma Cancer Center. The Frederick High School Student Council is organizing fund-raising and the promotion of cancer awareness next week in order to raise donations for this cause. Our goal for this year is $5,000!! Our Lady Bombers softball teams have three games next week and they will wear pink shirts to promote breast cancer awareness for Win-Win Week. Also, the Frederick Bomber football team will be using pink athletic tape at the game next Friday against Dallas Gateway. Anyone at the game who has been affected by cancer will be recognized during half time of the game. In addition, the Frederick Bombers student body would like to "Pink Out" our stadiums at all athletic events during this week. Pink Bomber Shirts will be arriving on Tuesday and will be sold on a first come, first serve basis for $12. They will be in Whitney McCauley's room #22 at the Frederick High School. Anyone who would like to donate to Win-Win Week, we will be taking donations at the high school. All proceeds will go directly to the Oklahoma Cancer Foundation, and a list of donors will be included in the football program on Friday, the 16th.
